Terms of Use
Short version: Homa helps you automate your own home. It is in private testing, you stay in charge of your equipment, and it is provided as it is.
Using Homa
Homa is for adults who own the home and equipment they connect, or have the owner's permission. By using Homa you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
What Homa does for you
Homa signs in to services you choose, such as Daikin Onecta, HomeWizard and SmartThings, and reads and changes your devices on your behalf, for example by raising a room temperature for a time window. You approve the first use on a connection, and Homa notes your settings before it changes them so it can put them back. Homa works to restore them, but it cannot promise it always can, for example if a provider's service is down.
Your heat pump and your equipment
- Homa keeps changes within the limits your device reports and follows minimum run and off times to protect the compressor. These protections reduce risk. They do not remove it.
- You are responsible for your equipment, its settings and any warranty. Check what your installer or manufacturer allows before you automate it.
- Do not use Homa for anything safety-critical, and do not rely on it as your only way to keep your home warm, safe or running.
Your accounts and key
Keep your private Homa key secret: anyone who has it can control your connected devices. You can revoke Homa's access at any time in your Daikin or SmartThings account. Please tell us if you think your key has been exposed.
Third-party services
Homa depends on services made by other companies. Their terms apply to your use of them, and they may change, limit or stop what they offer, such as a daily cap on requests. When that happens parts of Homa may stop working. Homa is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Daikin, HomeWizard, Samsung or SmartThings, and their names belong to their owners.
Private testing
Homa is still being built. Features can change or disappear, there can be mistakes, and there is no promise that it is always available.
No warranty
Homa is provided as it is and as available, without promises of any kind, to the extent the law allows. Rights you have as a consumer by law are not affected.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Homa and its maker are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for damage to equipment, loss of heating or hot water, or higher energy costs, that come from using Homa. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and ending
We may update these terms or stop offering Homa. The date above changes when the terms do. You can stop using Homa at any time and ask for your data to be deleted, as described in the Privacy Policy.
